PEOPLE-PLACE-PURPOSE-POTENTIAL Position Summary: The Senior Revenue Accountant will be a part of the worldwide revenue accounting team responsible for developing and enhancing revenue related processes and controls, such as software related issues, hosted arrangements, contract review and other revenue related topics. Plantronics is in a dynamic environment looking for a motivated person to improve processes. See specific responsibilities below. Responsibilities: Help guide and develop new business model strategies and workflows by assessing against revenue recognition implications Help to develop and monitor relative fair value price allocation evaluations Streamline process to identify and capture software updates/upgrades Help monitor marketing collateral and other forms of communication that may incorporate roadmaps to support accounting positions Review revenue contracts and formalize appropriate summary documentation Assist in drafting technical accounting memos Ad-hoc reporting using OBIEE, Excel, Essbase, and/or Oracle; Enhance and streamline the control environment; Assist with the Company's monthly close and reporting process including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation of revenue accounts in the US; Assist with the quarterly and annual audits; including the compilation and preparation of supporting schedules, and financial reports related to areas of responsibility; Assist with SOX initiatives and testing; update SOX narratives, support internal audit requests related to areas of responsibility Help train cross functional teams on revenue topics The Ideal Candidate: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 4 years of progressive accounting experience; minimum 2 years of industry experience in high-tech environment Knowledge of US GAAP, software and multiple element revenue recognition guidance, and customer discounts, particularly SOP 97-2, ASU xxxx-13/14 and EITF 01-09 Strong desktop skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel, Work and Powerpoint Familiar with financial systems and business application skills including OBIEE, Hyperion and Oracle Experience working for international manufacturing company Organized and detail oriented Project management skills Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 4 years of accounting experience focused around revenue All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation or on the basis of disability .
